A personal letter from Samantha, the hands & Heart behind the lens.

Dear Reader,

Dear Reader,

This little corner of the internet has been resting in the quiet parts of my heart for a long time—tucked between nap times and golden hour, between editing queues and cold cups of coffee left on cluttered countertops.

I never thought I’d be here, writing words that feel like both a beginning and a remembering. But here you are, and here I am—and I’m so glad you found your way in.

How It Started

I never thought this would be my work. Not really.

I got my first camera at 17—my parents handed it to me, probably unaware it would become an extension of who I am. Back then I photographed everything. My camera was my journal, my way of keeping tiny pieces of time.

And then… life. Moves. Changes. That camera sat in a box for over a decade.

In those years, I filled my phone with thousands of moments. I even bought a little vlogging camera before my first trip to Alaska—something light, easy. It came everywhere with me. That tiny camera let me quietly begin again, even when I didn’t realize I was starting.

When my twins were born, I picked up my camera for the first time in years to take their newborn photos. But twin motherhood is… all-encompassing. Beautiful and exhausting. I didn’t have space to breathe, let alone create. And so the camera was tucked away again.

Until two years later—when my little sister told me she was pregnant.

I offered to photograph her maternity session. Nothing fancy. Just her, a growing belly, and the soft light of my parents’ front yard. I hung a sheet, arranged a few props, and started clicking.

Somewhere in those frames, something in me shifted.

I remembered why I used to do this.

Because it mattered.

Because time is fleeting.

Because I didn’t want to forget.

I went home different that day. Lit up. Alive in a way I hadn’t felt in years.

This wasn’t a hobby anymore. It felt like a calling.

That’s when S•Beau Productions was born—a quiet beginning to something bigger than I ever expected.

Finding my style

At first, I hesitated. The photography world felt full, loud, intimidating. But my husband—he saw it.

He saw the way I came alive after sessions, carrying light in my chest. He stepped in with the twins so I could chase this dream. He believed in it before I could.

As my work grew, I noticed something soft taking root in my galleries. A certain warmth. Grain. Golden light. A haziness around the edges. It wasn’t intentional at first, but looking back, I realize I was chasing a feeling—the feeling of a memory being made in real time.

That’s when Beau Haus Films bloomed. My cinematic branch of S•Beau Productions. For stories best told in motion. For the moments that deserve to feel like a film—soft, rich, and dripping with nostalgia.

What I Do Now

Today, S•Beau Productions holds space for both still and moving stories.

I photograph weddings, motherhood, and life’s in-between magic. I create films that feel like a vintage memory reel you’d find in your grandmother’s attic.

My galleries lean into warmth and whimsy, into imperfection. Because the way a moment feels matters more than how it looks.

Weddings have grown into such a beautiful part of my heart. Maybe it’s because I see time differently now—sticky toddler hugs will do that to you. I notice the quiet weight of it all: the deep breath before the aisle, the way a mother tucks a grown child’s hair back one last time.

I also offer documentary-style sessions for the quieter everyday magic: fresh 48s, motherhood stories, or just a Saturday morning in your kitchen. These aren’t posed. They’re honest. Cinematic. About chasing a feeling, not a pose.

Because those small, ordinary things?

They’re the story.

What's Coming Next...

If you’ve made it this far—thank you. Truly.

This space is still unfolding.

In the next post, I’ll share what’s ahead: my new wedding collections, a full guide on Super 8 film, à la carte offerings, and how to build a storytelling experience that feels like you.

Whether you’re a bride, a mama, or just someone who feels a little too deeply (hi, same)—I think you’ll feel at home here.

My Why

Motherhood taught me that we don’t get time back. Motherhood made me a storyteller.

It taught me to notice. To press pause even when everything moves fast. To find the sacred in the mundane.

This work is my way of honoring that—of giving you a place to hold onto the epic and the ordinary.

I don’t just want to take your photos or create your films.

I want to care for your memories.

Because one day, they’ll be all that’s left.

And I believe they deserve to be held tenderly—for as long as we possibly can.

Thank you for being here—for reading, for remembering, for holding space for slow things.

This blog is more than a journal. It’s a little garden I'm going to tend to.

And I hope, in some way, it reminds you to pause too.

To notice the golden in your own days.

To keep something, even if it’s small.

Until next time—

I’ll be documenting where the wild things grow.

Samantha
